Chewelah Creek or NYC’s Central Park?

Help Create a Flotilla Near You on October 29

New York’s Central Park and Chewelah’s Light Up the Park both provide a Pumpkin Flotilla just before Halloween. Light Up the Park is launching a Flotilla of 100 pumpkins in Chewelah Creek, assisted by local Scout troops and area residents. Please bring carved jack o’ lanterns to reflect “light and joy” from the center of the creek and park and create a community spectacle of light. Pumpkins about 8-10 pounds (about the size of a soccer ball) are ideal for the Flotilla. Don’t have a pumpkin? Get and carve one at the Pumpkin Carving station on Oct. 29, noon to 3 p.m. in Chewelah City Park. Check Light Up the Park Chewelah on Facebook for more info. Photo by David McMillin.
