Chewelah dominates Riverside

The Jenkins High Cougars continued their season opening shutout streak with a dominating 20-0 victory over the Riverside Rams Friday night at Snyder Field.
The offense played well early and the defense dominated for the entire game, keeping Riverside’s offense bottled up and forcing six turnovers on the night.
Head coach Levi Hogan was pleased by the all-around effort.
Up next for Chewelah (2-0) is a Northeast A League home tilt against Newport (1-1). This is also Homecoming week for JHS. It’s another potential distraction to coach around.
“Homecoming week is always tough for a coach,” Hogan admitted. “You just want to get through the week to the game…there are so many distractions.”
Kickoff is Friday at 7 p.m. against the Grizzlies.
