Colville High (5-0-1) continues on a spring roll. The Indians notched two more Northeast A League boys soccer wins last week.
The Indians blasted winless Deer Park 8-0 on the CHS pitch last Tuesday and edged Lakeside 3-2 in a Thursday showdown of the two NEA early-season leaders.
Colville wasn’t tested against Deer Park. The Indians came out shooting, but Colville struggled to find the net early.
But at the 13-minute mark, senior Ridge Walston got into a free kick from the half line and scored just over the DP goalie’s fingertips.
“Ridge seems to score a couple of those 60-yarders every season,” Colville coach Dave Rarrick remarked.
The Indians continued to pummel the Deer Park goalie, but came up short until the 29th minute when Jimmy Lepp scored off an Alberto Cisneros cross.
“These guys are really creative passers on the field. From that point on (Lepp’s goal), we found ourselves in better positions to score. It was all based on the foundation of passing style.”
That Lepp goal was followed by a Cisneros “Hat Trick,” another Lepp goal and two goals from Noah Rarrick.
Colville was credited with 23 shots on goal. DP had only four.
