Colville suffers first loss

Colville High (9-1-1) dropped its first high school boy’s soccer match-up of the season last Tuesday on the home pitch to Northeast A League rival Newport, 4-1.
The Indians rebounded on Thursday at Deer Park, blasting the Stags (0-11, 0-8) 9-3 behind the season high four goals of Alberto Cisneros. Jimmy Lepp added three more for the Indians, who are still one game ahead of Newport (10-4, 6-2) as the NEA heads into its final week of regular season play.
It didn’t help Colville’s cause any that the Indians had to travel to Mt. Spokane High School a day before the loss to Newport.
CHS was able to beat the Mt. Spokane High junior varsity, 5-0, in a pointless non-league fray that probably shouldn’t have been played 24-hours before an important league match-up.
