Flood advisory until Oct. 14

The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a flood advisory, for minor flooding in poor drainage areas, for Okanogan, Stevens, Ferry, Pend Oreille and Chelan Counties until 9:15 p.m. Oct. 14.

At 9 a.m. Oct. 13, forecast models and satellite estimates indicated a long period of moderate to occasional steady, heavy rain throughout Northeast Washington over the next 24 hours, according to the National Weather Service. This rain can cause minor flooding and overflowing of poor drainage areas. Areas below recent burn scars are at a higher risk for minor erosion and mudslides.
