Leaf pickup times - Colville and Kettle Falls

COLVILLE—Leaves and pine needles can be placed along the edge of the street by 7 a.m. on Nov. 7 and the Colville Street Department will pick up and remove them at no charge.

City crews will make only one pass through the city and will not return to a neighborhood after the initial pick-up, so residents are encouraged to have their leaves or needles along the street by Nov. 7. There will be no alley pick-ups.

Only leaves and pine needles will be picked up--no branches, brush, or other yard debris will be accepted. Residents are encouraged to dampen the piles of loose leaves to prevent leaves from blowing into the streets and back into neighboring yards.

Please do not bag leaves.

If you have any questions, call Municipal Services Administrative Assistant Erica Schauls at (509) 684-1489 or the Street Dept. at (509) 684-8165.

KETTLE FALLS—The city of Kettle Falls will offer a Fall Yard Waste pickup Nov. 2 through Nov. 10. All leaves must be bagged and branches must be cut and tied into bundles no longer than four-feet in length for easy handling.

Each residence is allowed 20 bags/bundles for a $2 fee.

Any city resident who would like to take advantage of this service is required to fill out a Fall Yard Waste pick-up form. Forms are available at City Hall in Kettle Falls. Forms must be filled out no later than Nov. 7 to be included on the pick-up list.

For more information, call City Hall at 738-6821.
