Marilyn Bergevin

Marilyn Bergevin, of Gig Harbor passed peacefully Wednesday night at home after a long fight with Pulmonary Fibrosis. She was born to Kathryn and Otto Fogle in 1935 in Colville. Her father came from North Dakota and was a local businessman. Her mother was born in Nebraska and moved to Colville to teach. Marilyn spent the summers as a child at her parent’s remote cabin in British Columbia and developed a love for nature. She graduated from Colville High in 1953 and received her BA in Education in 1957 from Washington State University. She married Duane Bergevin in 1956 and they began their married life as a military couple serving in the Army until they settled in San Jose, California, where they resided for 37 years before re¬tiring to Gig Harbor. Marilyn was an active member of Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church and PEO. She belonged to Beta Omega chapter Delta Gamma, Washington State University. She loved to travel with her husband. Every place she visited she met new lifelong friends. Marilyn is survived by her devoted husband, Duane Bergevin and her sister, Janet Kroll (Richard), Deer Park. Marilyn was a devoted mother to her three children: Michele Eneboe (Michael) of San Jose, CA; Michael Bergevin (Kathy) of Bozeman, MT and James Bergevin (Jenny) of Lake Oswego, OR. She was also devoted to and was the loving guardian of her deceased brother’s four children, of which she became guardian after her brother, Robert Fogle and his wife were killed in 1974: Julie Bonney (Tuck), of Kodiak, AK; Rodney Fogle (Sue), of Colville; Steve Fogle (Lori), of Colville; and Wendy McKee (Bruce), of Birmingham AL. She was dearly loved by her 9 grandchildren, her three great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Kathyrn Fogle, of Colville, and by a brother and sister-in-law, Robert Fogle (June) of Colville.
