Mary Wilson

Mary Elizabeth Wilson, a lifelong resident of Kettle Falls, passed away on Feb. 17, 2012 at the age of 80. She was born on July 11, 1931, the daughter of Jerry and Mattie (Fry) Ferguson. Mary married Art Wilson in 1948. Soon after Mary and Art were married, they built a house in Kettle Falls where they re¬sided for the rest of their lives. It was in this home where they raised three children, Lanaa, Rick, and Rauna. Mary enjoyed traveling with her husband Art throughout Panorama Land, singing and playing music in a small country band. They performed throughout the area, playing for several events and a lot of Grange dance’s back in the day. She also enjoyed spending time on Lake Roosevelt with a boat they bought around 1960. Water skiing and camping became a big event every summer. Mary and Art liked camping out over the years and it seemed like Snag Cove became their main choice to spend their summer vacations. All of Mary’s children and grandchildren’s birthdays were a very special event throughout the years. All holidays were a special occasion for gathering with friends and family. Even something as simple as Valentine’s Day was just as important.Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Art, in November 1991; by her mother, and father, Jerry and Mattie Ferguson and her brothers, Elmer, Roberts, and Albert Ferguson. She is survived by her daughter, Lanaa (Rick) Henderson, Kettle Falls; WA; Rick Wilson, Kettle Falls; Rauna Wilson, Kettle Falls; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren. She was soon to be a great-great grand¬mother.Lanaa, Rick and Rauna have special memories of their Mom as being a beautiful, loving, and caring person. She did what mom’s do the very best.
