Mildred Frazier

Mildred Clara Frazier, a resident of Colville, passed away on Oct. 1, 2012 at Pinewood Terrace Nursing Home in Colville. Mildred was born on May 27, 1925 in Hunters, the daughter of Ben B. Frazier (son of Walla Walla area pioneer, Cantrel R. Frazier) and Martha A. Stimpson (daughter of Abner B. Stimpson). Mildred “Millie” was the youngest of nine children. On Jan. 1, 1950, Mildred’s mother, Martha, passed away and the Keller Ferry, “The Martha S,” was named in her memory. Following Martha’s passing, her younger children were raised in Hunters, residing with various families in the area, where they attended the Hunters school. Mildred married Clyde Olson from Oregon and raised four children. After her children were grown, Mildred moved to Texas and supported herself by working as a motel maid. She later returned to Washington to be near family.Mildred enjoyed country and western music and collected many records. She is survived by her daughters, Virginia Satterlee, Peoria, AZ; Karen Olson, Portland, OR; a son, Glenn Olson, Spokane; two grandsons, two great-grandsons and many nieces and nephews. The memorial service for Mildred Clara Frazier was held Oct. 9 at the Nazarene Church in Colville. An ash interment followed at the Greenwood Cemetery in Hunters. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.
