Miss Colville right around the corner

The Colville Chamber of Commerce will present the Miss Colville Scholarship Program titled "As Time Goes By" on Saturday, March 24 at 7 p.m. at the Colville High School auditorium. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Reserved seat tick¬ets are available for $10 each at the Colville Chamber of Commerce office now, or at the door on the night of the program. Chamber of¬fice hours are Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. “This year's show promises to be a very entertaining one,” says Miss Colville Director ,Kari Hubbard. “All of the girls are enthusiastic and ex¬tremely talented.” This year, three girls will be chosen to represent Colville on the float in various pa¬rades throughout the community, where they will serve as ambassadors and hostesses to various events. The participants will be judged in the following catego¬ries- Scholastic (20 percent), Inter¬view (25 percent), Fitness (15 percent), Talent (20 percent), and Poise (20 percent). The audience only sees the Fitness, Talent and Poise por¬tions of the program. Scho¬lastic judging takes place prior to the program and is based on their high school transcripts. Interviews take place during the day, just before the evening per¬formance. Scholarships for each category will be given out to the winners, along with separate scholarships for Miss Colville and her two alter¬nates.Send a card to your favorite participant The following are the con¬testants running for Miss Colville (listed with their talent presentations) are: Emily Tveit, daughter of Steven Tveit (deceased), Gina Tveit-Ferguson and Fareon Ferguson, will be doing a pi¬ano performance. Taryn Edlin, daughter of Kevin and Cherri Edlin, will be singing for her talent presentation. Brianna Carstens, daughter of Randy and Mary Carstens, will be performing a jazz dance. Alyssa Kienbaum, daughter of David and Lisa Kienbaum, will be reciting a poem she wrote herself. Rachel Heggenberger, daughter of Paul and Tammy Heggenberger, will be singing. Carolyn Hall, daughter of Todd and Cathy Hall, will be doing a piano performance. Aubrey Milatz, daughter of Angela and Steve Milatz, will be singing. Hannah Johnson, daughter of Arne and Melissa Johnson, will be performing a clogging/jazz dance. Jessica Franko, daughter of Jason and Sarah Franko, will be performing a monologue. Alicia Poe, daughter of John and Sue Poe, will be signing to "Amazing Grace." All the contestants will be introduced at the Tuesday March 20 Colville Chamber of Commerce noon luncheon meeting at Stephani's Oak Street Grill. “Anyone is welcome to send flowers, balloons, notes of en¬couragement and other greetings to the girls during the day of the program,” says Hubbard. “The girls really ap¬preciate the kinds thoughts.” There will be a table located in the foyer of the high school where those items can be dropped off right up until the program starts. Items will be immediately delivered to the girls in their dressing room before the show.
