St. John-Endicott up next for SHS

IONE--The Selkirk High football home opener started out well, but after a hard- hitting first quarter, Pomeroy took control and ran away from the Rangers by the final of 62-0.
The turning point centered around an injury to quarterback/defensive end and team leader Jacob Couch. His loss caused the Rangers confusion on defense and special teams.
“We didn’t handle adversity well,” said head coach Jeremy Link. “As a young team, it was tough.”
Although SHS recovered their bearings in the fourth quarter, stiffened defensively and began moving the ball, the Rangers couldn’t find the end zone.
On Friday, Selkirk (1-1) will host St. John-Endicott (0-1) at 7 p.m.
