The Selkirk Rangers opened their 2017 season with a triple overtime victory over the Clark Fork Wampus Cats.
“It was an awesome game; we were very evenly matched,” said head coach Jeremy Link. “We played with a lot of heart and never gave up, it’s everything you want to see out of a young team.”
The come from behind win by the Rangers was accomplished both on the ground and in the air, behind a 27 carry, four touchdown, 144-yard performance by Ty Taylor and 307 yards and one touchdown passing by Jay Link.
Link completed 16 of 21 passes and seems much more in control of the offense than last season.
“His accuracy is coming right along, his arm has become stronger and he’s able to get the ball out quick and throw on the run,” complimented coach Link.

This week the Rangers will be on the road against the Pomeroy Pirates, kickoff is on Saturday at 5 p.m.
