Relay for Life - June 24

This year’s annual Relay For Life event will be held June 24 at the Yep Kanum Park. The theme is: An Old Fashioned County Fair – “Remembering a Simpler Time Before Cancer.”

The opening ceremony begins at 5 p.m., followed by the survivor and team lap at 5:30 p.m.

A survivor dinner will begin at 6 p.m. along with entertainment and activities. The survivor dinner is a free meal for any Stevens County cancer survivors (anyone who has ever heard the words “you have cancer.”) and their caregivers.  To RSVP to the dinner, Survivors can register online at or by phone at 1.877.957.7848.

Entertainment includes Sarah Brown’s students, Jukebox Review and Sons Of Sasquatch.

At 10 p.m. the park with be lit up as the luminaria ceremony gets underway. The closing ceremony will start at 11 p.m.

Luminarias can be purchased at the Statesman-Examiner with a $5 donation.
