Robert Brooks

Robert “Bob” Brooks was born August 18, 1930 at Boyds. He died August 25, 2011 at Battle Ground. He was 81. He was the youngest of eight children. Bob graduated from Colville High School in 1949. From 1952-1953, Bob served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army. He was an ambulance driver in the Korean War. While serving, he was awarded many medals. In 1953, he received honorable discharge to the reserves. In June, 1954, Bob married the love of his life, Louise Bedingfield. They were happily married for 57 years and raised five children. Forty-three of those years they lived at Moses Lake. After retiring, Bob dedicated 15 years as a volunteer at the Moses Lake Senior Center. He also col¬lected Packards and enjoyed working with wood in his shop. In September, 2008 Bob and his wife relocated to Battle Ground. There he lived out his final years with family. Bob is survived by wife; sisters, Jean Tinlin, Whitefish, MT; Louise Fry, Evans; and twin sister, Betty Grimstad, Mill City, OR; by his sons, Melvin, Battle Ground; Marvin, Moses Lake; daughters, Karin Brooks, Colville; Kathy Brooks, Moses Lake, and Kristy Bedingfield, Columbia Falls, MT; several grandchil¬dren and many great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. in the Social Hall at Moses Lake Senior Center, 608 East 3rd Ave., Moses Lake Washington 98837
