Washington state's Free Fishing Weekend: June 11-12

Staff Writer

This Saturday and Sunday is the annual "Free Fishing Weekend" in Washington state. Several items will not be required for this two day event: fishing license, Vehicle Access Pass, Discover Pass, Columbia River Salmon/Steelhead Endorsement and Two-Pole Endorsement.

According to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, all other rules still apply. These rules include seasons, area/lure or bait restrictions, and size and catch limits. Catch Record Cards are required to fish for salmon, sturgeon, steelhead and halibut. The first Catch Record Card is free.

Free Fishing Weekend in Washington is always the first weekend after the first Monday of June.
