Alan Sloan

Alan Sloan, age 33 of Colville, WA, has gone to be with his Lord and Savior. Alan was born on November 5, 1992, in Colville Hospital to Greg and Shelley Sloan. He grew up on a farm (Little Dalles Orchard), which his parents bought in 1990. In 2000, he moved back to California with his family when he was eight years old.  

Alan attended Mother Lode Christian School in Sonora, California, where his mother was a teacher from 2nd to 8th grade. After graduating High School, he enlisted in the army in 2012 and went to Boot camp in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Boot camp and the military culture were challenged after growing up in a Christian family and a small town. 

He was a young man and a young Christian with strong faith, convictions, and morals. He started a prayer group with his buddies and always wrote home asking for prayers for boldness and strength in the military culture. He was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska, in 2012 and served as an M.P. (Military Police). Alan was married in 2015 while on leave in Sonora, CA. 

They both returned to Alaska. Then he was transferred to Hawaii. After a year, he was promoted to Sergeant because of his leadership skills, numerous awards, recognitions, and accomplishments. All through his military career, Alan wanted to be the best at everything he did, despite the negative culture. He advanced to C.I.D. (Criminal Investigation Division) because of his commitment to justice. 

He was also a great marksman and received praise from his commanders. He was dismissed from the Army after serving his time with an honorable discharge. He moved to Colville with his wife to be near his family members. Alan worked with his father in his septic business until he started his own business. 

He worked serving landowners and homeowners on different projects. Alan also liked to do street ministries. He helped homeless people who were living on the streets by giving them food and a place to live, and he told them about Jesus. 

His heart was to see people changed for the better and for them to seek a relationship with Jesus. Alan will be missed by his parents, siblings, friends, and the community. Alan is survived by his parents, Greg and Shelley Sloan, his five siblings, Ryan, Andrew, Lauren, Anthony, and Aaron. Along with his 15 nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held on September 5, 2026, located at Hope Vineyard at 184 Degrief Road in Colville at 1 pm. Alan will be laid to rest in Mi-Wuk Village, California, in the area where he grew up.
