Grant A. Dotts, Sr., age 93, passed away on May 20, 2026 in Colville, WA. Grant was born on March 8, 1933 in Colville the son of Desmond and Lena (Ansoldo) Dotts. Grant began his school in Evans, WA where he attended Evans Elementary School. He then continued into high school and attended Marcus High School. Grant graduated with the Class of 1951. In the spring of 1952, he met Caroline Gotham at a community dance and he knew he had found true love. Weeks later, he proposed and on June 8, 1952 they were wed at the Hitchin Post in Coeur d’Alene, ID. He and Caroline lived all over Stevens County and into Wyoming and California. Colville was always their home base. Grant worked as a self-employed truck driver and his also worked on a road maintenance crew with the U.S. Forest Service. Grant retired the keys to his logging truck in 1994. He enjoyed time outdoors, especially fishing, golfing and hunting. Grant was a gifted athlete and loved supporting the youth as an umpire for Little League games and a referee for basketball games. He shared many miles with those he loved while driving the old dirt roads and taking boat rides at the Little Pend Orielle Lakes. Countless hours were spent playing cards (especially pinocle and cribbage) and telling stories of the old-days while having coffee with his pals at the Arden One Stop. He could often be found behind the grill making breakfast for all of his family and friends. He loved to gather his family and host large reunions open to family and a host of friends. Grant was honored twice as the Grand Marshall for the Colville Rodeo. He was an active community member and was a past member of the FAO Eagles Colville Lodge, Colville Free Methodist Church, Shriners, Arden Old Timers Rodeo Association, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Colville Rodeo Association and the Good Sams Club. Grant was preceded in death by his parents, Desmond and Lena Dotts; brothers, Gaylord, Argonne and Monty Dotts; granddaughter, Katie Williams He is survived by his wife of nearly 74 years, Caroline Dotts, at the home; children, Grant Dotts Jr. (Sandy) of Colville, WA, Steve Dotts (Anita) of Harrison Hot Springs, BC, Marilyn Dotts (Barry Meyer) of Chewelah, WA and Harry Dotts (Sherri) of Colville, WA, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 4 greatgreat grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends. The funeral service for Grant A. Dotts began at 1:00 p.m., at the Ag-Trade Center in Colville, WA. A graveside service and vault interment followed at the Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville, WA.
