Marjorie Yvonne Gormon

Marjorie Yvonne Gormon left our world peacefully on July 30, 2026. Midge, as she was best known, was born in Orient, Washington, on November 28, 1932, to Art and Ada Nelson. As a young girl, she moved with her family to the big city of Colville, where she attended all 12 years of school and graduated from Colville High School in 1950. 

At age 14, she met the love of her life, Leonard Gormon. They married in 1952 and purchased 240 acres of land, where they built a life together, raised their children, and cared for an assortment of animals while growing the crops needed to sustain their family and farm. More than anything, Midge wanted to be a mother, and she became a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. 

She gave her family an abundance of love, opportunity and unwavering support, and she took great joy in their many successes. Midge had a kind and loving heart, a sassy sense of humor and the gift of gab. She was a practical woman, content with a simple life filled with family and many friends. When life inevitably brought challenges, she met them with tenacity and acceptance. 

She was tremendously grateful for the long and happy life she lived, often saying, “I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.” Midge will be profoundly missed by her children, Sandy Gormon-Brown (Matt Brown) and Mike Gormon (Paula); her grandchildren, Darrel Adams (Desiree), Brian Adams (Teiko), Hannah Gormon (Colton Davis), Cooper Brown, Noah Brown; great-grandchildren Yuno Adams, Mia Adams, Chloe Rollins, Tharron Davis and soon-tobe Miley Davis; and numerous other family members and dear friends. 

She will be met with loving arms in the next world by her husband, Leonard; her parents; and her beloved brother, along with the many friends and family members who preceded her in death.
