Ballots Delayed

Stevens County Auditor Lori Larsen said on Oct. 21 that 16,000 ballots were folded incorrectly by their printing vendor and, as a result, the ballot packages had to be reassembled. She clarified that the ballots still met state timeframe requirements, and the corrected ballots were mailed out by Oct. 16. According to Larsen, all voters should give the United States Postal Service seven days to deliver ballots to their mailboxes. If a voter has not received their ballot by Oct. 26, they should call the elections office and request a replacement, she said.
