The Woodland Theatre Receives Support for Upcoming Projects

The Woodland Theatre, built in Kettle Falls in 1940, is the main performance site for Woodland Productions, a nonprofit community of local performing artists. Thanks to donations from grants, Friends of Woodland Theatre, and other major donors, the theatre now has the funds needed to complete upgrades.

Glaze It Up Pottery is the new Colville-based pottery painting business that brings ceramics to their customers. “I pull up, I set up, and I bring the pottery, the glaze (paint), the paint brushes, and the paint pallets,” said Glaze It Up Pottery owner Heather Fryer. “I even bring the garbage bags to haul away the trash.

Karen Wisner, owner of A Kut Above hair salon, has moved locations and continues to style hair and provide mani-pedis after 38 years in the industry. “I started at my new location the first week of October,” said Wisner. “I needed a change, less stress in my life. A Kut Above is my name, so I took that with me and left everything else for the other girls.”

Opening to the public for a soft opening on Nov. 1, new bookstore Seekers Bookshop has been a dream in the making for more than two years. 
“We bought this space when it came up for sale two years ago,” said Lisa Wilson, who owns the bookshop with her husband, Buddy. “The building had lots of potential, and we just had to purchase it.”

A Colville beauty salon has re-opened under a new name, Bare Beauty, and with new owners, Kendra Lynds and Morgan Schultz, as of Oct. 1. “This was an unexpected opportunity,” said Lynds. “I was a nail tech at A Kut Above,” said Lynds. “I’ve been licensed for six-and-a-half years, and have worked at this location the whole time I’ve done nails.”
