Seekers Bookshop, located at 270 S. Main Street in Colville, was visited by three area authors on Saturday, June 13. The bookshop hosted an event for Carmen Peone, Sherry Karuza Waldrip, and Kathy Keppel-Colkitt, who provided on-sight commentary for their published books.

Colville resident Jennifer Mitchell first got into the jewelry business selling pearls on the shores of Hawaii. “What’s better than sitting on the beach, selling jewelry, and watching the dolphins play or the whales go by?” said Mitchell. “I just had a knack for it, for the selling and customer service, and something just clicked.”

Dale and Sharon Anderson established A-Automotive out of the back of a pickup truck 40 years ago. They traveled to customers’ homes and repaired their broken-down vehicles, with Sharon maintaining the finances and Dale getting his hands dirty fixing the vehicles.

A health center could replace a bar in Colville’s business district. “We are exploring the option of putting a women’s health clinic in,” said Vonnie [CQ] McCoy, director of N.E.W. Family Life Services. “We want to do women’s body awareness classes, maybe some STD and STI testing.”
