Colville Couple Launches Pressure Washing Business With Community in Mind

For Jason and Heather Foster, opening their pressure washing business wasn’t just about starting a new venture; it was about investing in their future while serving the community they call home. The Colville couple launched Pressure’s On in April while continuing to work full-time. The two said their long-term goal is to build a successful business that will provide supplemental retirement income once their children have graduated and they are ready to step away from their primary careers.

The idea for the business came from Jason Foster’s father, but the two said it was a visit with a cousin in The Dalles, Ore., who owns a pressure washing and window cleaning business, that inspired them to take the leap. After spending a day learning the trade firsthand, they decided to bring those ser- vices to northeastern Washington.

The Fosters said they primarily serve Colville, with additional work in Cheney. Their services include residential and commercial pressure washing, house washing, window cleaning, surface cleaning for patios, decks, and driveways, and special- ty services such as oxidation removal for commercial buildings. While they have be- gun taking on commercial projects, Jason Foster said the majority of their customers are homeowners.

Foster added that house washing and window cleaning have quickly become the busiest parts of their business. One of the most rewarding aspects of the job, according to Foster, is seeing the dramatic transformations they can achieve. “We love seeing how much of a difference we can make for someone’s home or business,” he said. “Seeing how happy our customers are when we’re finished has been really rewarding.”

Foster said they also make it a point to go above and beyond on every job by performing a small act of kindness or an extra service at no additional cost. “We always try to do a little something extra for our customers,” he said. “It’s our way of showing we appreciate their business.” Their biggest challenge so far has been a commercial oxidation removal project, but Foster said the results have made the hard work worthwhile. As a new business, the support they’ve received from the community has also stood out.

“The business owners and residents who have contacted us have been very supportive,” he said. “We’ve received a lot of positive feedback, and we’re really grateful.” Looking ahead, Foster said he and Heather hope to continue growing the business and perhaps one day make it a family legacy. “If we can build it up enough, maybe our kids can eventually come into the business or even take it over someday,” Foster said.
