The Colville Home and Garden show, put on by the Colville Chamber of Commerce and held Friday and Saturday, March 6-7 at the Spokane Community College, Colville Campus, was packed with area vendors offering free samples, demonstrations, door prizes and more to a steady stream of attendees.

“It tells the story in time,” American Legion member Dennis MacDonald said when discussing the final painting day of the mural on the west wall of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 54 in Chewelah. This wall faces Highway 395 and is located at 111 S. Park Street near Main Street. MacDonald added that the mural is designed to honor veterans.

The Stevens County Historical Society unveiled their new mural, painted by Northport artist Jami Rose Lord, at the Stevens County Historical Society museum, 700 N. Wynn St. in Colville, during a celebration on Aug. 9, which included free admission and refreshments for the over 100 attendees.
