Kettle Falls Bar ‘From Gears to Beers’ Changes Ownership

Kettle Falls bar and dining spot From Gears to Beers has recently changed ownership and management. Angelina Sinka, a bartender at the establishment since October 2025, has purchased the business from Craig and Ju- lie Daily and manages it on her own. Before From Gears to Beers, the business was Craig’s Automotive. Craig and Julie Daily transformed their automotive business into a bar, pursuing a long-time dream.

“I own a nail salon in Kettle Falls,” said Sinka. “One day, about 10 months ago, I went into From Gears to Beers for lunch and a drink. Julie and I bonded over Frenchies, a dog that is a cross between a Boston terrier and a pug. Julie knew that I had previous bartending experience, and she asked me if I wanted a job. That’s when I started work- ing for them.” Recently, the Dailys asked Sinka if she would be inter- ested in purchasing the business. “They wanted me to buy the business and continue leasing the building,” said Sinka. “Craig didn’t enjoy bartending. It wasn’t his thing. And Julie’s heart has always been with kids, and she plans to return to working at the Astor School.”

The Dailys said they are excited about Angelina taking over the business. “We are very proud that we created an amazing business that the community wanted,” said Julie Daily. “We offered music back into the community and paired it with great food and drinks. We are also glad to be able to offer Angelina the opportunity to grow the business even more than we did. She is going to be great at it.” Sinka said she plans on making some changes, which include adding sliders, salads, and a few other items to the menu.

She also wants to make the bar and dining spot family-friendly until 8 p.m. She said she hopes to enact this change by spring. Additionally, she plans on hiring an additional bartender. “Right now, I’m the only bartender. We only have a couple of employees right now. I’m picky on hiring, though. I’m particular on ethics, and the person I hire must have a permit.” Sinka said she has a lot on her plate, from purchasing From Gears to Beers and maintaining her nail salon business, to being a single mom.

“I’m also five-and-a-half months pregnant, due in December. I’ve always been a single mom, and I don’t plan on any down time. My two older children can help.” Sinka said she will keep both businesses and “see how things go.” She started her nail salon, The Beauty Garage, four years ago and operates it by appointment only. “In the future, I’ll probably push toward the bar, but I love nails. I get to be creative. I don’t plan on stopping.”
