Bare Beauty Opens in Colville

A Colville beauty salon has re-opened under a new name, Bare Beauty, and with new owners, Kendra Lynds and Morgan Schultz, as of Oct. 1.

“This was an unexpected opportunity,” said Lynds. 

“I was a nail tech at A Kut Above,” said Lynds. “I’ve been licensed for six-and-a-half years, and have worked at this location the whole time I’ve done nails.”

Born and raised in Colville, Lynds said she has always wanted to do nails, and she got her start by doing her own. “I am lucky to be able to work with my sister, Taylor Lynds, who does hair.”

Business partner, hair stylist, cosmetologist, and friend Schultz has embarked on this adventure with Lynds. “We are like a big family here,” said Schultz. The four of us: Kendra, Taylor, Kourtney (Anderson), and I really like each other. It’s natural.”

“We spend time outside of work together,” said Lynds. “We all have kids, and we have a lot in common.”

Like Lynds, Schultz also grew up in Colville. “I didn’t know what I wanted to do as far as a career goes,” she said. “But I knew I didn’t want to do book stuff. I wanted to do a hands-on kind of job, like what I’m doing now.”

According to the duo, Bare Beauty will be offering the same services that A Kut Above did, and plans to add an esthetician to the staff beginning Nov. 1. “We currently offer acrylics, manicures, pedicures, haircuts, color service, and tinsel. We also do facial waxing,” said Lynds. 

“We are looking forward to rebranding and making this space our own,” said Lynds. “We will change the décor and layout, try to give it a more boho or rustic look.”

“It’s great being business partners with Kendra,” said Schultz. “We’ve been great friends from the beginning. And between the four of us, we have a lot of experience. Kourtney has 10 years, and Taylor has five. We all came here straight out of beauty school, and we have a lot of years under our belts.”

Bare Beauty is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is located at 105 N. Main St., in Colville. They can be reached at 360-375-1879.
