

Bulldog Softball Season Ends In Districts

Kettle Falls finished the season 8-18.
Kettle Falls’ softball season ended Friday, May 8, with a pair of losses in the District 6 2B tournament at Dwight Merkel Field. The Bulldogs opened the day with a 13-1 loss to North No. 2 seed Liberty High School in six innings, then fell 11-1 to Northwest Christian in five innings in a loser-out game. Against Liberty, the Bulldogs trailed 9-1 after the fourth inning before the Lancers added one run in the fifth and three more in the sixth to end the game early. Kettle Falls finished with one run on two hits and committed four errors. Persephonie Ste. Marie and Heira Palumbo each had a hit for the Bulldogs, while Palumbo drove in Kettle Falls’ lone run. The loss sent Kettle Falls into a loser-out game against Northwest Christian later that day. The Bulldogs scored one run in the first inning against the Crusaders, but Northwest Christian answered with seven runs in the second and four in the third to take control. Kettle Falls finished with one run on two hits and two errors. Ste. Marie and Keilana Rockwell each had a hit for the Bulldogs, while Palumbo drove in the team’s run. Kettle Falls finished the season 8-18.
