

Bulldogs Baseball Faces Newport, Moves to 3-7 on Season

The Kettle Falls Bulldogs baseball team earned a split in a three-game stretch against Newport last week, picking up a pair of wins before dropping the finale to move to 3-7 on the season.
Kettle Falls opened with a 4-2 win on March 31, using runs in the fifth and seventh innings to secure the victory. Cooper McKern led the offense with three hits, while Danny Searson went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a triple. Ryder Subile also drove in a run as did Zander Johnson. Johnson earned the win on the mound, allowing just two runs over 5.1 innings while striking out three. The Bulldogs’ pitching staff held Newport to five hits in the game.
The Bulldogs followed with an 8-7 win on April 3, edging Newport after scoring four runs in the seventh inning. Cody Adams delivered a key performance with a hit and four RBIs, while Micah Langrehr also contributed a pair of hits. Josh Shope picked up the win in relief, helping close out the game.
In the final game of the stretch, Kettle Falls fell 6-1 despite collecting five hits. Danny Searson drove in the Bulldogs' lone run in the first inning.
