The Cougars returned home Friday, Jan. 23, but came up just short in a 70-62 loss to the Reardan Screaming Eagles. Reardan built a 41-25 halftime lead before Chewelah responded with a strong third quarter, outscoring the Eagles 22-12 to cut the deficit.
McMillin led all scorers with 27 points for Chewelah, connecting on four 3-pointers and going 4-for-8 from the free-throw line. Landon Stancil added 12 points, while Grady Skok chipped in five points.
Reardan was led by Justin Vaughn’s 23 points and Maveric Sobotta’s 20, with the Eagles knocking down nine 3-pointers as a team.
