Chewelah Girls Track Wins Home NE 2B Meet With Runners

Chewelah Girls Dominate at Home Behind Wins in Sprints, Distance Events, and Relays, While Kettle Falls Athletes Add Strong Finishes

The Chewelah girls proved to be the top track team at the NE 2B Meet No. 3 on April 29 at Snyder Field. Chewelah dominated the sprints and distance races, led by Marianne Thomason (100m winner) and Rin Parsons, who swept the 200m and 400m.

Liberty Whittekiend secured a win in the long jump (15' 10") and the 4x200 relay team of Thomason, Whittekiend, Morgan Dobson, and Parsons took first place. The distance squad also swept their events with wins from Mei Parsons (800m), Diana Durhum (1,600m), and Josie Carter (3,200m).

Kettle Falls saw strong performances from Wyn Edwards, who won the triple jump (32' 9"), and their winning 4x100 relay team of Isabella Tiwebemal, Avery Tobias, Edwards, and Audrey Esvelt.

On the boys' side, Chewelah’s Meirahn Waford-Nimmons won the 300m hurdles (44.87) and the 4x400 relay team took first. Kettle Falls’ Owen Rosenthal led his team by winning the javelin with a throw of 144 feet, 2 inches.
