

Chewelah Softball Splits With Kettle Falls

The Chewelah Cougars softball team sits at 3-2 on the season after splitting a pair of games with Kettle Falls in NE 2B softball action.
Chewelah opened the stretch with a 7-2 loss to Kettle Falls on March 25, struggling to generate consistent offense despite a handful of opportunities. The Cougars were limited to three hits, with Isabella Turner accounting for two of them, including a double and two RBIs. Nicole Turner also added a hit. In the circle, Isabella Turner pitched a complete game, allowing seven runs on five hits while striking out 10.
The Cougars responded in a big way in Saturday’s matchup, outlasting Kettle Falls in a high-scoring 15-11 victory. Chewelah’s offense came alive for seven hits.
Sara Vioni led the way with a strong performance at the plate, collecting two hits including a double, while Charlie Fuller had a double and drove in a pair of runs.
