The Colville baseball team continued its strong early-season surge, picking up three more wins last week to improve to 5-1 overall, fueled by production throughout the lineup and some standout pitching.
The Crimson Hawks opened the stretch with a 5-1 win over Cheney on March 18.
Colville tallied nine hits in the game, led by Fisher Hilderbrandt, who went 2-for-3, and Kyle Bradfield, who added two hits, a triple and two RBIs. Colton Hansen also drove in three runs to pace the offense. Jet Bateman had a double.
On the mound, Hansen earned the win, tossing four innings while allowing just one hit and no earned runs. Bradfield started and struck out three over three innings, helping keep Cheney off balance throughout.
Colville carried that momentum into Saturday’s matchup against Freeman at Whitworth University, where the Hawks again came out on top, 5-1.
Bateman recorded two hits, while Hansen added two RBIs as Colville capitalized on five hits and aggressive baserunning to generate runs.
Conor Lyng picked up the win on the mound, going four innings and allowing just one run on two hits while striking out three. Hansen and Gunnar Baker combined in relief to close out the game.
The Hawks capped the week with a dominant 5-0 shutout over rival Chewelah, highlighted by a complete-game performance from Bradfield.
Bradfield was in control from the start, tossing seven innings while allowing just one hit and striking out 14 to lead the shutout effort.
Offensively, Colville spread production throughout the lineup. Bateman went 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Luke Bateman had two hits and drove in two runs. Hansen also contributed an RBI as the Hawks scored five runs on seven hits.
