The Colville Crimson Hawks boys soccer team has been young for a few years, but Head Coach Dave Rarrick said they are entering the 2026 season with expectations and confidence.

“I expect to see improvements on both our defensive and offensive ends of the field,” Rarrick said. “On the defensive side, we will be led by senior Collin Scheafer. Over the last four years Collin has really grown into one of our most physical guys on the back line and has become a strong leader for us.”

Rarrick said Scheafer anchors a defensive unit that includes senior Ashton Donaldson and freshman Sam-E Miller on the outside, giving the Hawks a mix of experience and youth. In goal, Colville will rely on senior Tristan Otter, who is stepping into a new role.

“We have Tristan Otter, who is new to the position but has been with us since he was a freshman,” Rarrick said. “We have been really drilling him on the position and he's really making a lot of progress. We are looking forward to seeing him develop in his new spot.”

The strength of the Crimson Hawks lies in the midfield, where senior captains Parker Sackman and Ari Stewart join junior standout Sam Sears.

“We are looking at our midfield as the foundation of what we will do on the pitch,” Rarrick said. “All three of those guys are fast and physical with great ball skills. These three guys are really consistent and dependable leaders for us. They will really help control the speed of the game and we are looking for them to be more involved in our attack game.”

On the wings, Rarrick said senior Connor Schneider and junior Jeff Sears bring speed and one-on-one ability, while the attack will be led by senior captain Trent Rarrick, alongside freshman Kayson Dupuis.

“Trent has led the team in scoring the last few years and spends a ton in the off season working on his game,” Rarrick said. “Kayson is young but is a really talented young man that is becoming aggressive in the attack.”

Colville brings a balanced roster to the field this season, with eight seniors, three juniors, four sophomores and five freshmen. That experience is especially valuable for a senior group that has grown together over the past four years.

“Our seniors have been together and have mostly been starters since they were freshmen,” Rarrick said. “We have gone through the storm as the youngest team in the league for the last three years and the guys are excited to get rid of that title.”

In league play, Rarrick expects a competitive race.

“The team to beat in the league will be NWC (Northwest Christian),” Rarrick said. “They are returning one of the top scorers in the league from last season. I think our strength in the middle will really help us compete with anyone in the league this season. I expect a lot of close games league-wide.”

With a veteran core, developing depth and a midfield capable of controlling the tempo, Colville is aiming to turn years of experience into results.

“They look to be improved in all positions, they are working harder than ever to achieve their goals this season,” Rarrick said.

Rarrick is joined on the coaching staff by assistants Daniel Torres and Chris Benson.
