Strong doubles play and key singles win lift Crimson Hawks to narrow victory.

The Colville girls tennis team picked up a narrow 3-2 victory over Deer Park on March 27, using strong performances in both singles and doubles play to secure the win.

Colville was led by a dominant showing from its No. 1 doubles team of senior Kylee Dyar and junior Ava Kelley, who did not drop a single game in a commanding 6-0, 6-0 victory over Deer Park’s top doubles pair. The Hawks also got a key singles win from senior Megan Long, who battled through a competitive match to defeat Deer Park’s No. 1 singles player 6-3, 6-4.

The deciding point came from Colville’s No. 2 doubles team, as senior Campbell Thompson and junior Lilly Hirsch delivered a strong performance in a 6-2, 6-1 win.

Deer Park picked up wins in the remaining singles matches, including a tightly contested three-set battle against Colville sophomore Jasmine Wolfe, who rebounded from a first-set loss to force a third-set tiebreak before falling 1-6, 6-4, (7-10).
