Colville Hawks Wrestlers Shine at Montana Open

The Colville Hawks USA Wrestling team joined forces with Colville alumnus Tommy Cahill’s Northwest Spartans to form the Spartan Hawks and compete in the mid-size team division at the Montana Open in Billings this past weekend. The three-day tournament featured more than 2,500 wrestlers from across the country and gave athletes the opportunity to test themselves against tough national competition.

Colville brought 12 wrestlers to the event and had an impressive showing with six athletes earning podium finishes. Jaxton Ohman led the way with a 1st-place finish, while Ty- son Huguenin placed 3rd. Maddie Huguenin and Kaylena Day each finished 4th, Aryanna Erickson 5th, and Kanyon Mahugh earned 6th place. As a combined team, the Spartan Hawks finished 2nd in the mid-size team division and 20th overall out of 185 teams.
