The Colville boys soccer team opened the 2026 season with a pair of challenging matchups, showing effort and flashes of promise despite falling to Tonasket and Okanogan in nonleague play.
The Crimson Hawks hosted Tonasket on Thursday, dropping a 6-1 decision in their home opener. Colville kept things competitive early, trailing just 2-0 at halftime before Tonasket pulled away in the second half. Freshman Kayson Dupuis provided the highlight for the Hawks, scoring the team’s lone goal.
Colville generated steady offensive pressure with 11 shots on goal, led by Parker Sackman with four attempts, while Trent Rarrick and Jeff Sears each added two shots. In goal, senior Tristan Otter turned in a strong performance under heavy pressure, recording 12 saves.
Defensively, senior Collin Scheafer helped anchor the back line, and freshman Sam-E Miller showed encouraging all-around play.
Colville followed with a 7-0 loss to Okanogan in a match that was closer than the final score indicated. The game remained scoreless until the final minutes of the first half, when Okanogan broke through with three quick goals to take control. The Bulldogs added four more in the second half, but the Hawks continued to compete throughout.
Offensively, Colville produced eight shots on goal, with Trent Rarrick and Sam Sears each recording three, while Jeff Sears and Sackman added two apiece. Otter finished with nine saves in goal.
