Colville Softball Wins Two in Stacked Week

Colville’s softball team turned in a 2-2 stretch against a challenging run of opponents last week, picking up a win over Northwest Christian while falling to Timberlake, and splitting a doubleheader against Medical Lake. The Crimson Hawks now sit at 6-7 on the season.

Colville opened the week with a narrow 5-4 loss to Timberlake on April 14. The Tigers scored three runs in the first inning and held off a late Crimson Hawks push. Natalie Housworth led Colville at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI, while Aubree Kubesh, Addie Marshall, and Ayven McCurdy each added a hit. Kubesh started in the circle and struck out 10 over 5 1/3 innings.

The Crimson Hawks bounced back April 16 with a 12-9 win over Northwest Christian in a game that featured 23 combined hits. Colville piled up 13 hits, led by Andrea Edwards, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and scored three runs. Kubesh finished 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored, while Kendra Lewis had two hits.

Kubesh earned the win in the circle, and Edwards came on in relief to help close it out.

Colville split a doubleheader with Medical Lake on April 17, beginning with a 6-4 victory. The Crimson Hawks collected nine hits in the win, including a 3-for-4 effort from Marshall, who drove in three runs. Amika Neuenker went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI, while Ellie Kumor added a hit and two RBIs.

Kubesh earned the complete-game win, allowing four runs on 11 hits while striking out seven.

Medical Lake answered in the second game with a 14-3 win in five innings. Colville managed five hits, with Kumor doubling and driving in a run and Maddy Andres finishing with a hit and two RBIs.
