Colville bats stay hot in high-scoring contests.
The Colville softball team played through a busy stretch of games last week, finishing with a split while piling up runs against quality competition.
Colville opened the week with a thrilling 13-12 win over East Valley on March 16, rallying behind a balanced offensive effort that produced 13 hits. Ellie Kumor led the charge with three hits and three RBIs, while Kelsea Lewis scored three runs and added two hits.
The Hawks followed with a tough 14-3 loss to Liberty, where Colville was limited to just three hits. Georgia Beardslee, Aubree Kubesh, and Kolee Titmus each recorded hits, but Liberty’s offense proved too much to overcome.
During the weekend in Ephrata, Colville found itself in a high-scoring battle, falling 18-10 to Eisenhower despite a strong showing at the plate. The Crimson Hawks racked up 14 hits, led by Kumor’s two hits and RBI, while Ayven McCurdy added two hits and Amika Neuneker contributed a pair of hits, including a double, and two RBIs.
In the day's nightcap, Colville came up short in an 11-7 loss to Ephrata. The Crimson Hawks tallied seven runs on five hits, with Kumor driving in two runs and McCurdy and Amika Neuneker each collecting hits and driving in runs. Lewis scored twice as Colville kept pace early before Ephrata pulled away late.
Colville is now 2-3 on the season.
