

Former County Commissioner Don Dashiell Dies At 70

Donald “Don” Larry Dashiell, a longtime Hunters rancher and former Stevens County commissioner, died peacefully April 29, 2026, at his home.
Donald “Don” Larry Dashiell, a longtime Hunters rancher and former Stevens County commis- sioner, died peacefully April 29, 2026, at his home. He was 70. A 1973 graduate of Columbia High School in Hunters, he later studied animal husbandry at Spokane Community Col- lege and Washington State University. Dashiell worked for 16 years as parts manager at LaDuke and Fogle Equipment. Dashiell served nine years as a Stevens County commissioner. He also was a 45-year member and 10-year president of the Stevens County Cattlemen’s Association i28-year volunteer firefighter with Stevens County Fire District 2, and a member of the Red Angus Association. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at Cedonia Community
Church, with burial at Cedonia Community cemetery.
