The Kettle Falls girls basketball team lost a pair of Northeast 2B North games last week, dropping to 6-12 overall and 3-7 in NE 2B League play.

Kettle Falls opened the week on the road Jan. 20, with a 58-20 loss to unbeaten league leader Reardan. The Screaming Eagles launched to an 18-1 first-quarter lead and maintained control throughout the contest.

Reardan (15-2 overall, 9-0 league) was led by Tenice Waters, who scored a game-high 21 points. Kettle Falls struggled to find offensive rhythm early and was held scoreless in the third quarter. Wyn Edwards paced the Bulldogs with 11 points, while Cambria Thivierge added seven points.

The Bulldogs returned home Friday, Jan. 23, but were unable to keep pace with Davenport in a 54-35 league loss. Kettle Falls trailed 25-22 at halftime before Davenport used a strong third quarter to pull away.

Glenna Soliday and Charlotte Soliday each scored 14 points for the Gorillas (12-3, 6-3), combining for eight 3-pointers. Davenport knocked down seven shots from beyond the arc on the night.

Edwards led all scorers with 24 points for Kettle Falls, hitting five free throws and a 3-pointer while accounting for more than half of the Bulldogs’ offense. Abby Ocasio added five points, and Thivierge chipped in four points.

Results from Kettle Falls’ road game against St. George’s on Tuesday, Jan. 27, were unavailable at press time. The Bulldogs are scheduled to host Chewelah on Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 7 p.m.
