Drivers Can Expect Overnight One-way Traffic and Delays Of Up To 20 Minutes as Crews Repave a Five-mile Stretch Near Chewelah
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) announced that nighttime lane closures began Monday, May 18, along a 5-mile stretch of U.S. Highway 395 near Chewelah for a paving project. Transportation officials said the highway will have closures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. between Hafer and Sand Canyon Road. Crews are scheduled to remove asphalt and repave the roadway in both directions. Drivers can expect lane closures with one-way alternating traffic, according to WSDOT. Travelers will be guided by flaggers and a pilot car, according to the department, and can expect delays of up to 20 minutes.
