

Northport Graduates – Past and Present – Receive Scholarship Funds

At Northport High School’s graduation on June 6, Northport Dollars for Scholars awarded $57,000 in scholarships sourced from the local community to students in the 2026 graduating class as well as previous year’s Northport graduates who are continuing their education. Peter Beardslee said he plans to attend Washington State University to pursue a business degree. He has been awarded a total of $7,500 in scholarships, including $3,000 from the Dennis and Annette Geroux Memorial Scholarship, $1,000 from the Don Baribault Memorial Scholarship, $500 from the Helen McNamee Memorial Scholarship, $1,000 from the Pete Guglielmino Scholarship, $1,500 from the Raisio Family Scholarship, and $500 from Northport Dollars for Scholars. Dalilah Colton was awarded $6,000 in scholarships and said she will attend Eastern Washington University to pursue a nursing degree. Her awards include $3,000 from the Dennis and Annette Geroux Memorial Scholarship, $500 from Northport Dollars for Scholars, $500 from the Ollie Mae Wilson Memorial Scholarship, $1,000 from the Stanley (Sock) Johnson Scholarship, and $1,000 from the Stephanie (Stevie) Paparich Wickstrom Scholarship. Kylie Colton said she plans to attend Eastern Washington University to pursue a degree in nursing. She was awarded a total of $7,000 in scholarships, including $3,000 from the Dennis and Annette Geroux Memorial Scholarship, $3,000 from the Ed Weilep Memorial Scholarship, $500 from the Ollie Mae Wilson Memorial Scholarship, and $500 from Northport Dollars for Scholars. Trista East was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from Northport Dollars for Scholars and said he will enroll in an automotive technology program. Makaila Hackenberg plans to attend Eastern Washington University to pursue a degree in biology. She has been awarded a total of $7,500 in scholarships, including $3,000 from the Dennis and Annette Geroux Memorial Scholarship, $1,000 from the Eileen LeCaire Norman Memorial Scholarship, $1,000 from the Janie Sauvola Memorial Scholarship, $500 from the Northport Community Preservation and Restoration Scholarship, $500 from the Northport Dollars for Scholars, and $1,500 from the Robert (Bob) and Connie Long Memorial Scholarship. Deklen Jensen was awarded $4,500 in scholarships and said he plans to attend Drive509 Truck Driving School Spokane to pursue his CDL. His awards include $3,000 from the Dennis and Annette Geroux Memorial Scholarship, $1,000 from the Den McNamee Memorial Scholarship, and $500 from the Northport Dollars for Scholars. Daniel Searson said he will attend Spokane Community College to pursue an electrician degree. He was awarded a total of $4,000 in scholarships, including $1,000 from the Cecil McNinch Memorial Scholarship, $1,000 from the Hemphill BrothersNorthport Limestone Division Scholarship, and $2,000 from the Northport Dollars for Scholars Persephonie Ste.Marie has been awarded $7,500 in scholarships and will attend George Mason University to pursue a degree in Forensic Science. Her awards include $3,000 from the Dennis and Annette Geroux Memorial Scholarship, $3,000 from the Ed Weilep Memorial Scholarship, $500 from the Jim Hanson Memorial Scholarship, $500 from the Northport Community Preservation and Restoration Scholarship, and $500 from Northport Dollars for Scholars. Four recent graduates from Northport High School, who are not pictured, were awarded scholarships to assist with their continuing education. Olivia Corcoran (class of 2024) attends Washington State University and was awarded $3,000 in scholarships, including $1,000 from the Ben and Viola Hofer Scholarship, $1,000 from the Stanley (Sock) Johnson Beyond First Year Scholarship, and $1,000 from Northport Dollars for Scholars Beyond First Year Scholarship. Ayva Glasgow (class of 2024) has been awarded $3,000 in scholarships and attends University of Washington. Her awards include $500 from the NCPR Beyond First Year Scholarship, $500 from Northport Dollars for Scholars Beyond First Year Scholarship, $1,000 from the Ed Weilep Beyond First Year Memorial Scholarship, and $1,000 from the Northport Community Service Club Scholarship. Anthony Hackenberg (class of 2024) attends Washington State University and was awarded $3,000 in scholarships, including $600 from the Northport Dollars for Scholars Beyond First Year Scholarship, $1,200 from the Northport Dollars for Scholars Beyond First Year Renewable Scholarship, and $1,200 from the Robert J. and Gail C. Graham Memorial Scholarship. Dawson Baribault (class of 2025) was awarded $3,000 in scholarships and attends Spokane Falls Community College. His awards include $1,000 from the Don Baribault Beyond First Year Memorial Scholarship and $2,000 from the Hall Family Beyond First Year Scholarship.
