

Thivierge Top Local Score in Chewelah Tournament

Chewelah and Kettle Falls golfers competed April 14 at the Chewelah North golf tournament, with several local athletes turning in strong rounds on both the boys and girls sides.
On the boys side, Kettle Falls’ Mace Thivierge posted the top local score of 82. He finished among the best rounds listed at the tournament, behind Northwest Christian’s Dylan Zimmerman, who shot a 79, St. George’s Matthew Longstreth, who carded an 80, and Davenport’s Mac Larmer, who shot an 81.
Kettle Falls also got a 97 from Jack Glaim. Tanner Schumacher shot a 123, and Paxton Newton finished with a 126 for the Bulldogs.
Chewelah was led by Asher Stancil, who shot a 94. Maximus Anderson followed with a 95, while Vannon Sheppard shot 99. Logan Medrano finished at 101, Nick Field shot 104, and Gage Forsberg carded a 106 for the Cougars.
The Chewelah girls were led by Kylie Chartrey, who shot 117. Megan Watts finished one stroke back with a 118, while Sophia Schatz shot 120. Sari Hume carded a 132, Elise Badgley shot 138, and Trinity Burges finished with a 141.
For Kettle Falls, Sunny Hite led the Bulldogs with a 102, one of the stronger girls scores listed at the tournament. Cambria Thivierge shot 119, and Addelynn Boone finished with a 131.
Almira Coulee Hartline’s Naomi Molitor had the top girls score listed with an 89. Odessa’s Ella Schlomer shot 99, St. George’s Ella Rich carded a 101, and Hite followed close behind at 102.
