Alec Allen Taylor

Alec Allen Taylor was born on May 6, 1988, and died on May 30, 2026, at the age of 38. Alec was born in Shakopee, Minnesota, as the firstborn child to Barbara and Allen Taylor. He lived in Chaska, Minnesota, for his first year of life before the 3 of them moved to their 40 acres near Colville, Washington. Growing up in the country, he appreciated the natural world and loved going on walks, climbing trees, riding ponies, gardening, building fires, sledding, skiing, motorcycling, and raising chickens, dogs, and a few kittens. Some of the things he loved were cooking and eating healthy, creative foods and meals. He enjoyed cooking for other people and always wanted to share what he made. He also liked cutting and splitting firewood and was good at physical tasks such as yard work, fence building, and jobs people in the community needed help with. Freestyle dancing felt like freedom and joy to him. He had an amazing singing voice and an inventive way of vocalizing sounds and phrases. He always believed that the spiritual aspect of life was very real and important, and he longed to connect with that reality. When he was 20, Alec was so excited to welcome his new baby into his life, Salem Taylor, who was born to him and his wife, Devonee, in Colville, WA. She now resides in Colorado with her mother. After they divorced, Aneka Davidson came into his life, and they had 2 children, Rabbit and Sparrow Taylor. They traveled and lived in various places such as Hawaii, Thailand, etc., as they adventured together. They moved from Colville to Ashland, OR, in July of 2017, where Alec worked as a CNA. In June of 2021, he and his kids moved back to Colville into the home place on the 40, or “the house with the green floors,” as Rabbit called it. It is where he is currently residing. His kids were so important to him. He liked to share with them new and different experiences, and it made him happy when he saw and experienced them having fun. His primary occupation in the last 7 or 8 years was as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Colville, Colfax, and Ashland, OR. Although it was tough work, he connected with the residents in ways no one else could. He cared deeply for them and felt their pain. He really liked his work and the staff he worked with. Alec’s ability to converse with people, regardless of their background or personality, made him many friends. Those who knew him are impacted by their experiences of knowing this talented and unique person. Alec was preceded in death by his Father, Allen Taylor. He is survived by his Mother, Barbara Taylor ( John Gohman), children Salem Taylor, and Rabbit and Sparrow Taylor and their mother, Aneka Davidson, Sister Jaeli Crane, Aunt Susan Martens (Irv Michaelsen), Uncles James and Tad Beech, Thom Taylor (Liz Taylor), as well as cousins and many friends. Please join in A CELEBRATION OF LIFE to be held on July 8th at Yep Kanum Park in Colville at the Kegel Shelter (the one on the south end near the skate park). We will begin with a potluck meal (Vegetarian dishes are welcome) at 5pm. Bring lawn chairs if you would like. A service will follow.
