Anna Maurica Trudell passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, at the home of her brother and sister-in-law Bill and Melonie Trudell, where they lovingly cared for her during the past several years.

Anna was born on November 1, 1958, at her parents’ home in Covada, Washington, to Johnny and Violet Trudell. Although Anna was born with Down syndrome, she lived a life full of determination and joy. She proudly participated in Special Olympics events, including bowling and track and field.

Birthdays were one of Anna’s greatest joys. Once family and friends shared their birthdays with her, she never forgot them. When the new calendar came out each year, Anna could remember not only the date, but even the day of the week each person’s birthday would fall on in the coming year.

One of the special times Anna loved was camping and fishing at White Mountain with her nieces and nephews. Anna brought joy to those around her with her contagious smile and warm spirit. No one was ever a stranger to Anna—she greeted everyone with open arms and a big hug, and people were always happy to be around her.

Anna is survived by her sister, Katherine (Don) Olson; her brothers, Bill (Melonie) Trudell and John Trudell; nephews Chris, Travis, Shaun, Zack, and Johnny; and nieces Stephanie, Tana, and Amanda.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Violet Trudell; her brother Timothy; and her sister Mary Margaret.

A celebration of Anna’s life will be held later this summer when family members are able to gather together.

Anna will be remembered for the joy she shared, the love she freely gave, and the many smiles she brought to the lives of those who knew her.
