Dale Rae Gould

Dale Rae Gould passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother, and friend whose quiet strength and loving heart touched everyone who knew him. Born on April 7th, 1938, in Stewartstown, New Hampshire, he was the youngest of twelve children. Dale learned early the value of family, hard work, and compassion. Throughout his life, nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with those he loved. He especially treasured every opportunity to watch his grandchildren participate in sporting events and school activities, proudly supporting them every step of the way. Dale moved to Washington state from New Hampshire at a young age. He graduated from Central Kitsap High School in 1956. After graduation, he served his country in both the Navy and the Army. After his years of service, Dale moved to Bremerton, Washington, and met and married his wife, Arlene. Together, they had a daughter, Allison, and were married for 44 years. In addition to his military service, Dale worked at Boeing but spent the majority of his career as a Pipefitter at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, retiring after 26 years of service. Dale was an avid reader and enjoyed the friendships and fellowship he found at the Hub Senior Center in Colville. Whether sharing a conversation, attending activities, or simply being around others, Dale appreciated the sense of community and connection. Though a quiet man by nature, Dale loved his family and friends deeply and completely. His kindness, steady presence, and unwavering support will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Dale leaves behind a daughter and sonin-law, Allison and Scott Thompson of Colville, and their three children, Charlie, Cannon, and Campbell. He is also survived by his sister, Jean Chase, of Concord, New Hampshire. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Marty Malone, PA-C, as well as the doctors, nurses, and staff at Providence Mt. Carmel for the exceptional care, compassion, and support they provided to Dale over the last year. In keeping with Dale’s wishes, memorial donations may be made to The Hub Senior Center. A memorial in his honor is planned for Friday, August 14th, at 4 pm at the home of Scott and Allison Thompson.
