Daniel (Danny) George Cummings was born on July 1, 1951, in Elgin, Illinois, to Betty Jean Ives and George Arthur Cummings. He passed away on June 12, 2026 in Spokane, Washington at the age of 74 years old. Danny graduated from high school in Gunnison, Colorado and attended Western Colorado University. After his time in collage, he spent 4 years in the Army. He was sent to the Naval School of Music in Virginia Beach for 6 months with his trumpet to begin his long and loving adventure with music. He spent some time in Texas and fell in love with the water. While in Texas he tried out scuba diving and became a scuba instructor. Soon after he became a traveling musician and spent several years performing, including with a band named Sedro’s Armada in Los Angeles. He continued his music career moving to Baton Rouge. When he was there, he was in a band named Stormy. In 2007, he moved to Spokane for one year then moved to Colville, bringing along his love for singing and playing guitar. In Colville, he played in the band Jukebox Review for many years. He also played for all three of the nursing homes in Colville. Danny loved to honor those who has served in the military by playing taps at the local cemeteries on Memorial Day and at the courthouse on Veterans Day. Throughout his life, he never met a stranger. Danny talked to anyone, lighting up every room with his laughter and contagious kindness. He made genuine and sincere connections throughout the town he loved through his music and time as a member of the American Legion. He was also a member of the Airport Advisory Board, a role that stemmed from his love of airplanes. He is survived by his loving significant other of 19 years, Mary Andres of Colville, WA; brothers, Randy (Cindy) Cummings of Montrose, CO; Cary (Karen) Cummings of Spokane, WA; Keith (Holy) Cummings of Otis Orchards, WA; and Greg (Amy) Cummings of Woodinville, WA; sisters, Kathy (Mac) Lineham of Highlands Ranch, CO; Linda Cummings of Manitou Springs, CO; Julie (Doug) Ingerson of Brighton, CO; and Becky (Dave) Jones of Grand Junction, CO; Daughter Brianna ( John) McGovern of Los Angeles, CA; and step daughters, Debi (Steve) Brodie of Wheatland, CA; and Laurie Lopez of Anchorage, AK.
