Diane Marie Bramhall was born on December 3, 1942, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Mary Elizabeth “Meg” Shaw and Norman C. Shaw. She passed away on June 10, 2026 in Colville, WA. As a young woman, Diane developed a lifelong love of music. She enjoyed singing and playing the guitar and was an active member of the choir at Braintree High School, where she graduated in 1961. Her musical talent earned her the distinction of being selected as one of only three female singers in the state to perform for the New England Conservatory of Music. Following graduation, Diane worked for IBM as a computer key punch operator until her marriage to Garth D. Kaye in 1963. Together they raised four children: Scott, Suzanne, Steven, and Michael. Diane found her greatest joy in her family and embraced her role as a homemaker with love and dedication. She enjoyed camping with her family and was an exceptional baker, winning awards for her homemade breads at county fairs. Her children fondly remember a home always filled with fresh-baked treats and her warm, caring presence. Over the years, the family lived in Massachusetts and Wisconsin before settling in Colville in 1979. Diane generously gave her time as a volunteer at the Colville Food Bank, serving her community with kindness and compassion. In 1984, Diane lost her first husband, Garth. She later found love again and married Jerry Bramhall in 1988. Together they made their home on Nancy Creek Road in Kettle Falls. Diane filled her home with her treasured collection of teapots. She was an avid reader and took great pleasure in crocheting afghans for her grandchildren, creating lasting gifts of love and comfort. Diane spent the last ten years of her life in the compassionate care of Buena Vista Nursing Home, where the staff became cherished friends and provided her with comfort and companionship. Diane was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Garth D. Kaye; her daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Randy Cox; and her son, Michael Kaye. She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Bramhall of Kettle Falls; her sons, Scott Kaye and Steven Kaye; grandchildren Dakoda Kaye, Stormy Vowels, Melissa (A.J.) Moonin, and Britteny Kaye (Taveus Brown); and great-grandchildren Micah, Arion, Amir, and Ariel. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, June 16, at 1:00 p.m. at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville, Washington. Diane will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to family, her generous spirit, and the countless ways she made those around her feel loved. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and the many lives she touched. Danekas Funeral Chapel & Crematory is entrusted with the arrangements.
