 -

Donna M. Villers, a lifelong resident of the Colville area passed away in Colville at the age of 98. Mrs. Villers was born at a ranch in the Sherman Creek area on July 7, 1927, the daughter of Perry and Pearl (Ensminger) Watt. She graduated from Colville High School in 1945. Donna married Dale Villers on February 27, 1947. They were married 57 years before Dale passed away in 2004. They had three children, Jerry, Sharon, and Janet who were the apples of their eyes.  Mrs. Villers was a homemaker for many years while the children were young. Once they were older and in school, she began working for the Colville School District at Aster and Hofstetter Schools as an aide. She worked for over 23 years and was honored when the district recognized her with the Golden Apple Award for her dedication and devotion to her students. She also taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at the United Methodist Church along with being their wedding hostess for many years. Donna loved going for rides around the countryside, visiting the Oregon Coast, decorating her home for each season, going on picnics, listening to music, with Engelbert Humperdink being her favorite, her yard, and her Siamese cats. Most of all she loved being with her family. Her hobbies included gardening, cake decorating, needlepoint, and cooking. Her creativity, artistic talents and zest for life were visible at every holiday and change of season with her home and office decorating. She loved to learn and keep up with technology especially for family communication. Donna was the matriarch of her family in every way and kept in contact with everyone in her family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was incredibly independent. Donna loved Colville as her home. Her favorite place to travel was the Oregon Coast, but she always loved coming home. Mrs. Villers is survived by her daughter Janet Parker and husband John, Spokane Valley; son-in-law Bill Pifer, Colville; daughter-in-law Carol Villers, Pendleton Oregon, grandson Jason Villers and wife Portia, Pendleton, Oregon; grandson Brandon Pifer, Portland, Oregon; great grandsons Hayden, Trenton, and Kellen Villers, Pendleton, Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
