Joyce Elaine Bishop

Joyce Elaine Bishop, age 73, a resident of Colville, WA, passed away on July 8, 2026 in Colville. Joyce was born on February 24, 1953 in Colville, the daughter of Buryl and Bonnie Jean (Hotchkiss) Osborn. 

She was raised in Orient and attended grade school at the Orient School House through the eighth grade. She then entered high school in Kettle Falls and graduated with the class of 1971. Joyce later married and they resided in Colville. She began a family and eventually moved to Spokane. Joyce worked in the home raising a family. 

Following a divorce, Joyce stayed in Spokane until 2000 when she moved back to Colville. Once back home, she settled into a quiet life and enjoyed the occasional coffee shop conversation. Joyce was independent and free spirited. She had a memory for dates, names, and places and could walk back in time with incredible recollection. Her laughter was contagious and would fill an entire room. She had a heart full of compassion and a gentle kindness to others. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Buryl and Bonnie; and her two brothers, Weldon Lindsey and Royce Osborn. She is survived by one son, Calvin Bishop; a grandson, Harley Bishop; her sister, Pennie Lindsey; her brother, Alden Lindsey, and a host of extended family. 

The funeral service for Joyce will begin at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville, WA, with a graveside service to follow at Mountain View Park Cemetery. Pastor Shane Moffitt will officiate. Memorial contributions may be given to any organization supporting the needs of abused and battered children. Danekas Funeral Chapel & Crematory is entrusted with the arrangements.
