Morley Willard George

Morley Willard George, a beloved husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a legacy of kindness, resilience, and love. Morley was born on September 25, 1936, in Calgary, Canada, to Willard George and Mary McCormick. In 1952, his family moved to Colville, Washington, where he made his home and became a cherished member of the community. 

He graduated from Colville High School and after a short interval, went to work at Colmac Industries where he spent the next 48 years rising from welder to plant manager. Morley lived a full and adventurous life. He played the bass and had a true love for music. He especially enjoyed any opportunity to get together and jam, sharing his love of music with those around him. 

Morley also loved fishing, boating, hunting, and bowling, and he always enjoyed playing hockey during his time in Canada. Whether he was outdoors enjoying nature, making music, or simply spending time with the people he loved, Morley found joy in the simple things in life. In addition to his dedication to work, family, and his many hobbies, he was also a longtime member of the Eagles 2797 and the Colville Grange. 

Those who knew Morley will remember him as a kind, respectful, resilient, and caring man. He had a wonderful spirit and a way of making the people around him feel valued. Above all, Morley cherished his family and the life he shared with his beloved wife, Twilla George, whom he loved dearly. Morley is survived by his wife, Twilla George; his sons, Dave (Kathy) George and Tim George; his stepsons, Gary (Christie) Weimer, Damon (Donna) Weimer, and Tony (Heather) Weimer; his brother, Garfield ( Jan) George; his sister, Lynda ( Jim) Scamahorn; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry his memory and the love he shared with them in their hearts. 

He was preceded in death by his brother Harley George. Morley’s life was one filled with music, adventure, family, and love. His kindness, strength, and caring heart will remain in the memories of all who had the privilege of knowing him.  A time for sharing memories will be held at the Arden Community Hall, September 25 at 4:00 PM. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
