Pat Loomis, age 73, passed on March 17, 2026 while in the compassionate care of Cornerstone Court in Spokane after a valiant fight. He was born December 10, 1952 in Spokane.

Pat was raised in Stevens and Pend Oreille Counties.  He had wonderful memories of going on snow rides with his sister behind their Dad’s tractor when they lived outside of Deer Park and other fond memories of the dairy farm outside Colville. Later years brought an interest in motorcycling; remodeling; woodworking; landscaping/gardening and pets. While living in Chewelah he decided to try using the motor from an ice cream maker to “animate” his outdoor Christmas decorations, which he enjoyed doing for the community.  Larger motors and more elaborate decorations followed.  Pat enjoyed his home; liked sharing his skills with others and was quick to help a friend or stranger.

Pat had a 40+yr sawmill career that started with Louisiana Pacific in Ione and continued with multiple employers at the Arden mill.  He operated many different types of equipment and became head sawyer for one employer.

He leaves his loving wife, Helen, whom he met over 47 years ago at Old King Cole’s in Colville; his sister Connie Jassman and her husband Gordon of Spokane; sister-in-law Mary Lavoie and her husband Steve of Roseville, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank those who helped & supported them on this journey: friends; caregivers; health care professionals and their staff; local businesses; and the stranger who jumped their battery in pouring rain.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Sid and Hazel Loomis, of Chewelah and his brother, Mike, of Clarkston.

At Pat’s request no service will be held. Donations in his honor may be made to Stevens County Sheriff’s Ambulance, 425 N Highway, Colville, WA 99114 or Colville Valley Animal Sanctuary, 1250 N Highway PMB 266, Colville WA 99114; or  Hospice of Spokane, PO Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99210-2215.
